Museo Taller Hilario Mendivil - Gallery Cusco - Peru

This quirky museum is housed within two beautiful courtyards decorated with interesting murals, statues and poems by the renowned Cusqueño artist Hilario Mendivil, his family and friends. The actual museum consists of just one room filled with Mendivil’s colorful statues of religious figures and saints, with their signature long necks. Information boards (in Spanish) tell the life history of the artist, and provide anecdotes of his time spent with fellow artists (including Pablo Neruda) writing and drinking in the Plazoleta San Blas. Entrance to the museum is free and original artworks by the artist and his family can be bought at the attached shop.
