Hostel

By Ricardo Segreda

Many hostels use "family-managed" as a selling point, but Hostal Casa Grande is one of the few in which it has some real value. In a 19th-century building constructed over what once was the Palace of Inca Yupanqui and featuring actual Inca-era blocks in its courtyard, the Casa Grande is managed with domestic pride by owner Sonia Mercado and her family. In terms of low-cost hostels, the rooms here are cleaner and have a more personal touch, though a few could use a fresh coat of paint. Additionally, there is a charming on-site museum, showcasing family lore, religious art, and Peruvian and cusqueño history, such as a display on the history of the sol, with actual bills and coins from the 19th century onward.

Loved this hotel !

Rating: 75%

It's a cheap hotel, so don't expect too much luxury. But there are very friendly owners!
