Hotel Rumi Punku is an attractive hotel in old Cusco. Rumi Punku means “stone door” in Quechua: the entrance to the hotel leads through an ancient stone door, obviously of Inca design. The doorway is all that has survived of an Inca palace; today the door is considered a historic relic by the city of Cusco. The hotel itself is quite charming and the rooms are airy and neat. The restaurant is friendly; there is a small courtyard and chapel on the premises. Breakfast is included, as is airport pick-up if you call ahead.

We had a great time there: the room was clean, the beds were very comfortable with lots of blankets and the water was running hot. We felt welcomed: They kept our bags during our trip to Machu Pichu; They were waiting for us at the Airport and we always had a taxi waiting when we needed one. We could walk from the hotel to visit and eat (great little restaurants around) and our kids could play in the charming courtyard. We had to try other hotels in the same price range before flying home and we were very disappointed. If we were to go back to Cusco, we will definitly go to this hotel, again.
