Hotel Libertador (Cusco)

Hoteles Libertador is a small chain of ultra-luxury hotels operating in Peru. The Cusco branch of itschain is the Hotel Libertador (Cusco), and according to the Peruvian Ministry of Industry and Tourism, it is the best five-star hotel in the city.

It is located in the former home of Francisco Pizarro, conquistador of Peru. The building is the well-known "Casa de los Cuatro Bustos" and it's right next door to the old Inca temple of the sun. Pizarro's home was built on the foundation of another Inca temple, and some of the stonework is still visible--you can admire it in the "Rumi" bar while enjoying a pisco sour. The well-furnished rooms are comfortable and the service is top-notch. The restaurant, "Inti Raymi," occasionally brings in traditional dancers. Ask if they'll have them while you're there.
