The Niños Hotel falls within the three-star range in terms of price, though it is not officially classified as such. Both single and double rooms start at $40. The large, comfortable rooms, inside an old and neatly refurbished colonial property, are attractively stylish, and are heated. It accepts payment in cash only, though exceptions can be made for groups booking through travel agencies. The rooms are not numbered, but named after children, accompanied by childhood photos provided by owner Jolanda van den Berg. There is a reason for this. The Niños Hotel (along with its restaurant), donates all its profits to help its foundation, which provides daily hot meals and assistance to 500 of Cusco's poorest. The overall quality of the facility justifies the price, and the knowledge that one is doing good should enhance the quality of one's visit to Cusco.
