With the large number of vendors all claiming to sell 100 percent alpaca, it’s often difficult to determine which sweaters are real and which are synthetic. But Artesanías Pachacútec sells the real deal and, better yet, the merchandise is affordable too. The super-soft alpaca sweaters come in a rainbow of colors, so you have your choice. With three locations spread about in Cusco, the sales staff are accustomed to working with tourists and are very accommodating and will want to help you find the right color and fit. Other items sold here include ponchos, hats, bags, ceramics and silver jewelry; but by far, sweaters are their thing.
