At the very summit of Suytuccato on the path leading north from San Blas, Américo Pacheco will welcome you into his rustic Hospedaje Inka, a former home ranch now serving as a backpacker palace, complete with an outdoor grill and bare, spare wooden floors (as well as private bathrooms). Américo is proud of what he calls his "orthopaedic" beds and his breakfast featuring real cusqueño chocolate and barley bread. Relax, take a deep breath of the clean, fresh, mountain air and enjoy the spectacular view of Cusco and the green mountain ranges surrounding it, all for $6 for a single room and $20 for a group. This is also one of the few hostels that offers parking. A good way to sample Cusco for both its urban and rural charms.

unconventional hostel
75%The place is very unusual. You have to climb to get there (good warm up before Inka Trail) but gives an overview to Cusco. Lots of open space, possible BBQ or just set the fire and gather around. Very friendly, almost familiar atmosphere!

100%We really enjoyed Americo's hospitality, he Julio, Alan and Yuri's friendliness made it a great place to stay at. We still think of them fondly, and plan to stay there again!

100%Yep I'm very happy I've climbed up there, because Yuri's smiles, and jokes ;-), the estupendous view, the people I've met there, and the Choquequiraw walk I've made with Alan (Yuri's brother) made my staying in Cusco unforgettably great!!!!
