The independent Swiss Los Apus Hotel and Mirador opened in December 1999.  It is nestled in the foothills of the unspoiled historical site of San Blas, three blocks from the Plaza de Armas. It is just 10 minutes from the Velasco Astete International Airport and the San Pedro rail station to Machu Picchu.

Los Apus' twenty rooms, some with balconies, have wooden floors, double-paned windows, extra long beds, cable TV, smoke detectors, telephones, private baths and central heating system. Non-smoking and disabled rooms are available. Other services include free airport pickup, WiFi access and internet cabin down at the patio, mail service, Fax, money exchange, laundry and flight and train reservations. Hair dryers and safe are available upon request, as are oxygen and a doctor. 

The El Mirador Restaurant and Bar is on the roof terrace and has magnificent panoramic views. El Patio Restaurant is surrounded by stone columns and features international and regional cuisine.
