Owned and run by a hospitable French Canadian expat who gladly chats up her clientele and doles out loads of free traveling advice, Witches' Garden is arguably one of Cusco's best all-around culinary experiences. The candlelit dining room is very mod and yet easily cozy and relaxing. The menu is almost too big and too tempting. And the cocktail list—like the bar stocked with imports not found in any other Cusco watering hole—is one of the best selections of concoctions in town.
The menu is heavy on favorites borrowed from all over the world (for example, the starter menu offers stuffed baked potatoes, Greek spanikopita, and oriental spring rolls), but also offers an alpaca option on most entrées, lending the restaurant a decidedly Peruvian flare. Lamb and vegetarian options make a humble appearance for diners less enthusiastic about the Andean meat. Be sure to save room for dessert (or be daring and start your meal with it) because the Black Hole Cake (Oreo cookie, vanilla ice cream, hot fudge and hot whiskey butterscotch) deserves its rumored "world-famous" reputation.
