The town of Aguas Calientes derives its nameāHot Waters--from the natural, sulfur-heated waters here, near the base of the world's most famous lost city. They have long been considered to have medicinal properties, and in consideration of their popularity, the local government has set up changing rooms and even a cafeteria so you can enjoy as much leisure time as you need to unwind and relax, especially if you have just completed the Inca Trail as well as explored Machu Picchu. Swimwear, towels and sandals are mandatory (the latter can be rented). The cost is three dollars for foreigners.
