Hotel Restaurant La Cabaña is a friendly hotel and restaurant not far from the center of town. It offers a variety of services not always found in a mid-range hotel, such as travel desk, internet, guides for the ruins and a TV with DVD library. They will also pick you up at the train station if you let them know in advance. The rooms are cozy and tastefully decorated, and the restaurant is quite pleasant and neat.

This Hotel is: Mid-Range

Traveler Reviews of Hotel Restaurant La Cabaña

La Cabana Aguas Calientes

Rating: 75%

I liked everything about this hotel except for two things. As soon as I walked in I felt comfortable. There's a sitting area cozily located next to the front desk and as you look in futher you see nicely arranged dining tables and a bar at the end. Everything is clean and nicely decorated with a feel for the town and country. There are computers with internet connections in the sitting area as well as a TV. Our room was spacious and comfortable. The bathroom looked like it had been renovated within the last year so everything looked new and was in great working order. There was hot water and good water pressure-sometimes that's hard to find in Peru. There were different types of people speaking all languages and the environment was warm and welcoming. We had dinner only one night - it was very good and we didn't get sick. What I didn't like was the walk to the hotel, it's an uphill walk that left me out of breath especially when we were carrying our luggage and after scaling the steps at Machu Picchu. If you can't walk uphill, I definitely don't recommend it. The other thing is they only accept Visa or Cash. We didn't have Visa so had to pay cash and we found out only after we arrived. Apparently some reservations are made by a service which takes many credit cards so you assume you can pay the entire amount with the card but not so. In our case, we only had Amex and Mastercard. This happened to us in another hotel as well so find out beforehand no matter where you go. The price was right at $62 per night for us.
