Machu Picchu Pueblo Hotel

Probably the best luxury option in Aguas Calientes, the expensive but beautiful Machu Picchu Pueblo Hotel is located just on the outskirts of town, about a five-minute walk from the station. The hotel is a complex of guest bungalow cabins and finely tended gardens. A nature lover's paradise, the gardens boast several hundred species of orchids, ferns and other cloud forest foliage. More than 150 species of birds and hummingbirds have been identified on the hotel grounds. The cabins are spacious and comfortable.

The Machu Picchu Pueblo Hotel has won numerous awards, including being named one of Travel and Leisure Magazine's top 25 hotels in Latin America. All in all, a very special place: if you can afford it, you won't be disappointed.

Traveler Reviews of Machu Picchu Pueblo Hotel

Rigid Staff

We had several problems here. The first involved an unnecessary charge to our reservation account that could not be reversed easily. The second involved restaurant  seating. We were a party of six but they could only accommodate four. Although it would have been easy to slide two tables together they refused our MANY requests. It seemed like the staff enjoyed saying "no" rather than finding a solution.
