Awamaki - Activity Info. Ollantaytambo - Peru

Awamaki is a non-profit organisation that founded the Patacancha Women's Cooperative, created with the intention of preserving and reviving the art of weaving using traditional methods and natural dyes, a practice going back centuries. The women employed earn a fair wage for their work. Awamaki also runs health, educational and sustainable tourism projects. As well as a store in Ollantaytambo selling hand-woven, authentic products, they offer home-stays, artisan workshops and reatreats, and visits to indigenous Quechua communities in the mountains. The store is located on Jirón de la Convención. URL: www.awamaki.org
