Set back from the main square, up one of Ollantaytambo's pretty cobblestone streets, the Andean Moon is a pleasant place to crash for a day or two. The owner is friendly and accommodating, and you can bargain with her during the low season for a reduced rate. Rooms are a generous size and have beamed ceilings, bare wooden floors and are tastefully adorned with the works of local artists. Head up the spiral staircase to the roof, from where you have a first class view of the fortress. Later, take a dip in the Jacuzzi - although it will set you back a bit at $25 for a group of four people. This place has 24 hr hot water and the prices include a simple continental breakfast.
