Hearts Cafe

Location:
Plaza de Armas
Ollantaytambo, Peru

Restaurant

By Paula Newton

Extremely popular with and highly recommended by those who have eaten there, Hearts Cafe is becoming something of a backpacker favorite. Set right on the Plaza de Armas, Hearts offers "mainly wholefoods," in well-sized portions to its patrons. Try the delicious chicken casserole, complete with mashed potatoes and veggies, or stop by to pick up a take-out breakfast before heading to the ruins. What's great about this place is that the donate profits to childrens' projects in the region - while you wait for your food, check out the walls that are adorned with the pictures of the help that the owner has provided to the local region. You can eat well here, knowing that your cash is going to a good cause. Open from 7 am to 9 pm daily.

Traveler Reviews of

Delicious food, good cause

Rating: 100%

There's always something nice about knowing that your money is going to those who really need it. Especially when you're eating. The great food helps too. I would recommend that anyone who visits Ollantaytambo eats here. Good value, good service.

My daughter and I ate here twice while we were in Ollantaytambo. The food was delicious and we were treated to pics of the NGO Sonia runs. The cafe lattes were fabulous.
