Hotel Urubamba

When visiting a country where the majority of the population lives in poverty, it may not be fair or kind to criticize the efforts of its citizens who are trying to do the best they can with limited resources. The Hotel Urubamba is only recommended for those traveling on the cheap with a general indifference to where they are crashing for the night. It offers not only shared bathrooms, but shared rooms, as in more traditional hostels, at $3 a night, with private rooms going for $10. The rooms featured ragged, old, green carpet. The owners will fix a breakfast for $2, and they are at least considerate and friendly. The hotel also has its own convenience store.
