Arco Deustua Memorial
Head north on Calle Lima from the main Plaza, and you will arrive at the Arco Deustua Memorial, built in 1847 to commemorate Peru´s fallen soldiers in the battles of Junin and Ayacucho during the Independence War with Spain. Just a few blocks uphill, the arch serves as a good lookout point over Puno, in the Parque San Juan.
