All Ways Travel World Challenge Volunteer Program

V!VA User‘s Description

Addressing the unique needs of the children of the indigenous communities who live in Puno and in the various islets of of Lake Titicaca, All Ways Travel, a progressive travel agency, and the non-profit World Challenge organization, work together organizing six groups of high school age volunteers, numbering about 13 each. The students raise funds to help purchase books and other educational material, medicine, and even toys. Volunteers also teach literacy to children while staying with their families on Anapia, Taquile, Sausi, and Uros Islands. They have won a national award for their work as Best Participative Community-based Project.
