By Kristi Mohrbacher

The Puente de los Suspiros (Bridge of Sighs) was built in the late 1800s, and to this day remains a romantic landmark for couples and families to enjoy the company of loved ones. Overlooking the waters that gently run down to the beach, the Puente de los Suspiros has inspired musicians and artists with its antique planks and quaint cobblestone road that lead to a great ocean view atop a cliff. The old bridge connects the streets of Ayacucho and La Ermita and is surrounded by little eateries and sidewalk vendors selling local foods at good prices.
