In the beautifully restored Casa Belén is the Museo Andrés de Castillo, which has three stunning collections. The largest is of breathtaking minerals from different parts of the country, with a separate room full of florescent rocks. An additional gallery explains pre-Columbian metalworking. Several rooms display the museums’ second collection: ancient Chancay ceramics. The last salon features well-preserved textiles from the Huari, Cancay, Inca, Nasca and other cultures. Scattered throughout are colonial paintings. Casa Belén is one of the oldest mansions in Lima, dating from 1606. It was rebuilt after the 1746 earthquake. During the 1920s, it was the US Embassy.
