
The Museo del Banco Central de Reserva (Central Reserve Bank Museum) has three sections: archaeology, numismatic (coins and money) and art. The archaeology section is located in the basement and has interesting pottery and impressive gold collections. The currency exhibit is on the first floor and features colonial-era coins. The art exhibit on the top floor features paintings from the 19th and 20th centuries, many by Peruvian artists, as well as itinerant shows. The museum also hosts a cine club and theater for children.
