According to legend, the Egyptian goddess Isis wore the emerald. It was later valued by the Romans for its calming, peaceful qualities. The green gem is also associated with good luck and cosmic energy. Along with gold, it helped build the Spanish empire. At Palacio de la Esmeralda you can pick out an exquisitely polished and mounted sample of this valued rock, presented on rings, amulets, bracelets, necklaces and earrings, and shaped in a variety of forms: heart, tear, oval, square or simply round. The creative designs include incorporations of Incan motifs. Palacio de la Esmeralda also sells other high quality folk art.
