Near the historic Plaza San Martin, of which the rooms provide a view, this is one of the best deals in Lima. It offers nearly first class hotel rooms at hostel rates. This was in fact, once upon a time, one of Lima's premier hotels. It is still well-maintained and for fifteen dollars you not only get your own room, but a private bath, electric fan and cable television, with a continental breakfast included. The rooms themselves are clean and fresh. The El Lava hotel also comes with its own bar and restaurant.
