Central Lima, Lima, Peru
Hotel
The Sheraton Lima is one of the finest hotels in the city and almost certainly the best luxury hotel in the historic district. It is in a modern, stately building with 431 rooms and features all of the amenities you would expect from a five-star hotel: comfortable rooms, good service, fine dining, a spa and more. The price is competitive with other hotels in the city in the same class. A good option for those who want to be close to the old town without sacrificing any comfort or luxury. As the name implies, there is also a casino on the premises.

friendly reception, helpfull staff, good rooms, multiple facilities
The first thing our taxi driver said to us was that it's not safe to walk around the Sheraton, especially at night. And my Peruvian friend said the same exact thing, after saying "blech" about the Sheraton. I would describe the Sheraton as a concrete monstrosity that is not for tourists who wish to wander from their hotel, have some food, or a drink. The rooms were spartan and a little dank. Except for a daytime walk to the historic square nearby, you will have to take a cab everywhere else you want to go (like Miraflores and Barranco). I would not stay at this hotel again. When I told some other Lima residents where I was staying, they all sort of said the same thing, "Oh, no, you should have stayed at ...."
We booked over internet and received a great deal, only $69 per night for a tower room. We recommend a tower room as this allows you entry into the exclusive little dining room on the 18th floor as well as free snacks in the evening, which replaces a meal (in our opinion). We had to extend our stay, now the minimum price is $120 per night for a tower room. No complaints.
