Once considered the soul of Chorrillos this boardwalk, used to be where local spend lazy afternoons and moonlit evenings. Since then, El Malecón has undergone two transformations, the first after the war with Chile, and the second at the beginning of the 20th century. Now, the once wooden planks have been replaced with bright tiled mosaics and the lighting system is electric instead of gas. With panoramic views of the bay of Lima, El Malecón proudly remains on the map and indestructible.
