Lima's planetarium and astronomical observatory was erected on the historical Morro Solar, a landmark location of important events during the War of the Pacific against Chile (1879-1883). From this spot, spectacular views of the Lima coast and Isla San Lorenzo can be enjoyed. The planetarium is open year-round by appointment, though it also hosts special viewings, especially during holidays. Check local listings or with the tourism office for more information.
