Based in Lima, Kolibri Expeditions provides birding trips to all corners of Peru and South America. Owned and operated by ex-pat, veteran bird lover guide and biologist from University of Stockholm, Sweden, Gunnar Engblom, Kolibri offers a variety of birding tours for both amateurs and serious field birders. If you want to see rare and exotic birds, or just a vibrant variety of birds, Engblom and his knowledgeable staff can make it happen. The company works with local communities so the tours will help conserve the habitat and lead to sustainable development. With a range of comfort levels--some tours sleep in hostels and others are more safari-style with tents--there are trips for every kind of bird and wildlife connoisseur. Groups can organize to have customized trips. Urban birding in Lima and whale watching are also available.
