Three kilometers south of Punta Hermosa you’ll find Punta Negra, home of the world-famous Punta Rocas break. Located in the northern part beach, this area is usually full of families and is lined with umbrellas and restaurants.
Punta Rocas is one of the most consistent waves in Peru. It has good shape from all directions of a swell. Waves here are typically a half-meter larger or more than other breaks, and it can hold up well, with up to a double overhead swell. It has good left and right breaks over a reef, but Punta Rocas can quickly get blown out if there is wind of any kind.
