Transportation
V!VA User‘s Description
Lima's airport, Aeropuerto Internacional Jorge Chávez, is located 16 km. northwest of Lima, about 30 minutes away from the Miraflores area. It is recommended that for domestic flights you arrive at least two hours in advance, and for international flights at least three hours in advance.
At the time of press the airport fee, or TUUA, was $6.05 for domestic flights and $30.25 for international flights. It tends to change often, so you may have to pay a bit more. You pay the fee at the airport payment teller windows, which are located across from the Mini Market on the second floor.
Taxis
Although taxis are a bit more expensive than other modes of transportation from the airport, they are by far the easiest. No lugging your luggage to the bus station, plus you will get dropped off at exactly where you need to be. The taxi ride from the Lima Airport to the center of Lima will take anywhere between 30 minutes and an hour, depending on traffic.
Upon arrival in Lima it is best to book a taxi in the reception area, rather than catching one of the taxis waiting outside, which will surely overcharge you. Ask for information at the Customer Care counters, which are located in the international and domestic arrivals area before the terminal exits. Expect to pay between ten and 20 US dollars for the taxi ride.
Lockers
If you are going to be in the airport for a long period of time and would rather not deal with you luggage, the airport does have lockers available for rent. The suitcase storage service is located in the domestic arrivals area.
Parking
There is both hourly and long-term parking available at the airport. The hourly rate is 3.50 nuevos soles. The payment teller windows can be found in front of the terminal. Long-term parking costs 17.50 nuevos soles per day. The long-term parking lot is the parking lot located on the right, directly following police control.
Internet and Telephone Services
Recently the Lima airport became Wi-Fi compatible. However, there is a charge to use this service. You can buy Wi-Fi cards at the coffee shops located in Peru Plaza, in the domestic and international terminals and in the public call center of the Telefónica, which is on the second level. Telephone booths are located throughout the airport, with the highest concentration being in the Telefónica.
Buses
There are no actual bus stations located on the premises of the airport, so if you have a lot of stuff it is probably best not to go looking for a bus.
