Every Saturday morning locals flock to Parque Reducto in Miraflores to buy fresh organic produce and to sample organic products. Nearly a block long, the market is largely made up of local organic farmers and environmental, education and natural health organizations, along with NGOs. This child-friendly zone has many hands-on education activities for young ones, and many presentations on ecology and organic food production. Aside from fresh organic fruits and vegetables, you can pick up items such as chicken, eggs and a number of cow and goat cheese. Perhaps the best, though, are the organic baked-goods and jams—and of course, don’t forget to wash it down with a fresh organic guanábana juice or a sip of organic coffee.
