Arúgula is a quiet after-theatre or -cinema restaurant a few blocks from Larcomar and the centre of Miraflores. The décor is quiet and unassuming with a played-down elegance. Arúgula is one of the favorite hangouts for Peru’s best writers and artists, who usually are found conversing in the corner tables over the excellent wines. Dishes of the day are written on a blackboard and include such delicacies as tuna tartare, rabbit ravioli and osobucco with saffron, among other wonders. The three-mushroom pizza is wonderful. Salads are delicious and include items such as squash flowers filled with prosciutto, fresh dates with blue cheese or grilled chicken breast rolled in sesame, all served over a bed of arugula.
