Hip Parque Kennedy attracts bar-goers, sightseers and park strollers to central Miraflores, and diners at El Parquetito Café have a ringside seat to the daily parade. Candles light individual tables, which stretch from the restaurant front to the park. The tiny white lights illuminate the eating area in a soft glow. The menu offers traditional Peruvian dishes such as cebiche, which is raw shrimp or fish marinated in lemon juice and served chilled, as well as beef dishes such as grilled steak served with an egg, rice and fried plantains. Fresh juices, Pilsener and other beers, and mixed drinks are served, as well as a fairly extensive list of desserts, including cakes and flan. Patrons who order breakfast can relax with a cup of coffee and juice, eat toast and eggs and watch other people hurry off to work. Ambiance is the draw here.
