Monterrico
Most famous for its horse racing, Monterrico is one of Lima´s less touristy neighborhoods. Monterrico´s Hippodrome gets packed four days a week, hosting both national and international races, Tuesday and Thursday at 7pm and Saturdays and Sundays at 1pm. There´s also a Gold Museum, Textile Museum, and Arms Museum all housed within one building. Here clothing samples over a thousand years old can be found, as well as feather capes hailing from Western Peru. Gun enthusiasts won´t want to miss the Spanish colonial firearms on display here.
