Biblioteca Nacional - Other Activity Lima - Peru

The expansive Biblioteca Nacional del Perú was established in 1821 and originally located in Central Lima. Despite having most of the its works stolen during the war with Chile, the library has been able to build up its offering. It now contains the largest selection of newspapers and magazines in the country. In 2006, it moved to a new locale that has a theater, cafeteria, exhibition halls, 12 reading rooms, storage areas and administrative offices. The library also hosts movies and other cultural events.
