The National Library

This expansive library was established in 1821 and originally located in Central Lima. Despite having most of the library’s works stolen during the war with Chile, the library has been able to build up its offering and moved to a new building in 2006. The new building boasts a theater, cafeteria, exhibition halls, 12 reading rooms, storage areas and administrative offices. The library also contains the largest selection of newspapers and magazines in the country.

Location:
Avenida de la Poesia 160
San Borja, Lima, Peru
