San Borja Overview

+ Add a Photo

By Amanda Massello

San Borja is primarily a residential neighborhood of Lima, though it is also home to one of the city's most important museums, the Museo de La Nación. Upon entering the Banco de la Nación building, one will find an aplethora of cultural offerings. The Museo Peruano de Ciencias de la Salud is also located here, with an extensive collection of mummies and models of all the Inca ruins to be found in the country accompanied by both Spanish and English explanations. Towards the basement you'll find the Instituto Nacional de Cultura´s bookshop. There's a café next door where you can sit down, mull over your purchases and relax after a full day of museum-hopping.
