Relatively unnoticed on the tourist circuit, Cajamarca is not bursting with dirt-cheap youth hostels like its southern sister, Cusco. Instead, the handful of Cajamarca hostels tend to be large, old, mid-range hotels or high-end resorts with spas and extensive grounds, though there are a couple of simpler hotels in town for those on a budget.
