Jalca Grande

Also known as La Jalca, Jalca Grande is the most traditional village in the region. Women still wear the classic clothing from centuries ago, and spin wool and weave, selling their goods around the plaza. The traditional bartering market is held on Fridays. The town celebrates the feast day of Saint Juan Bautista between 24-26 June. Nearby attractions include Laguna de Mamacocha, and the archaeological site of Óllape.

Other places nearby Jalca Grande: Ku├ęlap, Leymebamba , Chachapoyas, Yerbabuena, Cajamarca and L├ímud.
