Named after the German engineer who was head of the archaeology project that bore the majority of the contents of the museum, The Bruning Museum opened in 1966. More than 1500 pieces are on display, which originate from various cultures from the surrounding area. Its collection of gold items is especially impressive, it has an expansive display of golden funeral masks, vases and jewelry. The museum is located 17 km north of Chiclayo in Lambayeque.
