Huanchaco is the ultimate in relaxed atmosphere, good surfing and great seafood. The weekends and high seasons get lively with Trujillanos and other Peruvians looking for their yearly dose of R & R. The rest of the year is made for the foreigners, though. The kilometers of beaches, like Playa Varadero, make for great beachcombing strolls, and at the north end of the beach you can see how tortora reeds, used in the caballitos grow. Sit on the seawall with your honey and watch the sunset, then have a romantic dinner and have some drinks. Life’s uncomplicated here.
