A few different outlets provide decent shopping along the malecón. In Huanchaco, the sourvenir gift of all souvenir gifts is something to remind you of the distinctive reed boats used for fishing.
Try Galeria Artesanal Takaynamo, a market of about 20 shops that's just north of the pier along Rivera Avenue.
