Huanchaco Services

Only during the summer months (December-March) does the tourism information kiosk next to the pier operate.

Two ATMs serve Huanchaco: to the left of the Municipalidad (La Ribera 725) is a GlobnalNet one, accepting Visa, Plus, Cirrus, MasterCard, American Express and Diners Club cards. To the right of city hall is a BBVA cajero, taking only Visa and Plus. Several businesses along Avenida La Ribera change US dollars and Euros, including Huanchaco Multiservice (Avenida La Ribera 284, Tel.: 46-2407).

Only a few internet cafés are to be had in the village. Internet Primavera (Las Gardenias 242) and Internet Speedy (Los Pinos 185) are closed Sundays. Kmek on the main drag has Skype and exchanges money (daily 8 a.m.-10 p.m. Avenida La Ribera 733). Locutorios are common. Serpost is here to drop a quick line to family and friends (Monday-Friday 2-6:30 p.m., Saturday 1-6 p.m. Manco Cápac 306).

Centro de Salud, Huanchaco's basic health post, provides round-the-clock service (Jirón Atahualpa 128, Tel.: 46-1547). Four boticas, or pharmacies, exist. Two are on Los Pinos, between Los Helechos and Los Sauces, a third on the corner of the Plaza de Armas, and the fourth near the corner of Unión and Huáscar.

Chill Out has next-day laundry service at $1.70 per kilogram (Los Pinos 437, Tel.: 46-2320).
