Huanchaco Schools

Between all the sun, sand and surfing, why not take some Spanish classes while in Huanchaco to have another reason to stay? Several Spanish schools are popping up in this beach town, and they tend to charge less for classes than those in other major cities in Peru. Espaanglisch (E-mail: davidmercedes@espaanglisch.com, URL: www.espaanglisch.com/spanish_classes) has an appealing Spanish study and surfing package called "Surfiñol," which includes a full-day rental of surfing equipment, two hours of one-on-one Spanish instruction and two hours of one-on-one surfing lessons for $32. Idiomatrix Language Academy (Grau 502. E-mail: info@idiomatrix.net, URL: www.idiomatrix.net) offers group lessons for around $4.50 per hour. The school is open daily until 9 p.m., so you can complete your Spanish language certificate by evenings and still be able to relax and surf during the day.
