A stunning, informative and atmospheric exhibtion on the discovery and subsequent excavation of the the tomb of the "Lord of Sipán". Along with a replica of the tomb itself, the museum displays the remarkable collection of artefacts found buried with the Lord. The highlights of the exhibition are undoubtedly the painstakingly restored gold and silver jewellry, and towards the end of the exhibition there are interesting displays on the restoration work itself as well as on efforts made to recover Moche artefacts previously lost to international smuggling.

Getting There
Lambayeque can be reached from Chiclayo by shared taxi for 1.50 soles p/p, which is much quicker than a combi (minibus).

Travel Tips: Guides are available for another 20 soles, but if you can read Spanish there is no need, as the displays are very well described.

Price Description: Entry is 10 soles for adults, no student discount (the advertised discount on the ticket booth is for local school children only).

You Need to Bring: No cameras or celluar phones allowed inside, leave items at cloakroom to the right of the ramp leaping to the entrance.

Lambayeque is famous for it's huge cakes known as "King Kongs" - buy some here while you can!
