During some months of the year, surfers may need to wear wet suits as the water can be colder than in more northern places like Zorritos. Be warned, that sharing the water and the waves with local surfers is not always the most pleasant of experiences, but if you know what you're doing, and are respectful of others, you shouldn't have any problem.
