This Hostelling Internacional facility lives up to the high and common standards of the organization. There is a common area and a community kitchen, both providing ample opportunities for socializing, not to mention a bar. A row of rooms on one side of the building have their own hammocks outdoors, tempting the visitor to veg out. The prices are a bit cheaper than other competing facilities, perhaps to compensate for a drawback; it is a little more out of the way, behind a lot. And the taxidermed, flea-bitten ferret sitting in the garden should go.

Traveler Reviews of La Posada de Máncora

untrustworthy

The place was beautiful,. nice private pool and quiet at night. although its located in a very inconvenient spot!!! dont want to walk alone back to the hostel(if you are a woman).   You never know when you ahve running water and when you do how much your goin to get..we never had electricity a few times..and refused to help us! The owner, Luica, is rude  and very untrustworthy!!! We had very valuable belongings taken from our room the night before we left!!! and it was certaintly someone that worked there..they knew exactly where everything was without making a mess!!!   dont trust them!!!

La posada, Mancora

The staff was really, really rude. At the end they refused to give us our change back (50 sol.!) They went in to our room without permission and some of our belongings went missing.. (????)Also, there is NO water! If you want to take a nice shower when you come back from the beach and wash all the sand off... you can´t .. or you have water for .. maybe.. 1 minute orso.. I hope ill forget this place really fast. (Don´t trust the staff, specially not the owner, Luisa) BUT!.. Mancora is really beautiful... !

Hostal La posada Mancora

Very bad smell in the room. There was some problems with water, I could only take a shower during certain times of the day and other times there was not any water at all. Also, there were too many mosquitoes, because there is a river very near.
