Getting To and Away from Máncora

All bus companies are located on Avenida Grau, as the Pan-American Highway is known north of the church.

To Piura: EPPO (stopping in Los Órganos, El Alto, Talara and Sullana) (half-hourly 4 a.m.-7:15 p.m.; 4-5 hr, $5-6). Also El Dorado and Transporte Chiclayo.

To Chiclayo: 6-8 hr, $9-12—Transporte Chiclayo (7 buses daily), El Dorado (4 buses, mostly in evening), Flores (2 buses early afternoon), Emtrepsa (9:30 p.m.).

To Trujillo: most services are 5-10 p.m.; 9-11 hr, $12-17—El Dorado (2 bguses in evening), Emtrepsa (1 bus in evening), Transporte Chiclayo (2 buses), Flores (2 early afternoon).

For Chiclayo and Trujillo, you can also go into Piura and change buses. Services are more frequent from there.

To Lima: most buses originate in Tumbes, passing through Máncora 5:30-9 p.m., 16-18 hr—Roggero ($24), Cruz del Sur ($52-63), Flores (5 buses, $28-45).

In Máncora you can catch the CIFA bus direct to Machala or Guayaquil, Ecuador, getting you safely through the problematic Aguas Verdes/Huaquillas border (5 buses daily 7 a.m.-9 p.m.; 5-7 hr, $15-23).
