The only bank in town is Banco de la Nación. It changes US cash dollars and is the MoneyGram agent; its ATM accepts only Visa and Plus (Monday-Friday 8a.m.- 5:30 p.m., Saturday 9 a.m.-1 p.m. Avenida Piura 641). Two GlobalNet ATMs, which take Visa, Plus, MasterCard, Cirrus and American Express cards, are found next to Hotel Sol y Mar and at Commercial Marlon (both on Avenida Piura). A BCP ATM that excepts all the same plastic is across the street from Restaurant Espada. Many bus offices and tour agencies exchange US cash dollars.

Internet and locutorios (phone offices) are common. The internet costs $0.50-0.70 per hour. Phone calls, per minute, are $0.07-0.10 for local / national land lines, $0.20 and up for international landlines, and $0.30-0.50 for cell phone calls. Ushpa internet café has all services, including Skype (daily 9 a.m.-11 p.m. Avenida Piura 372). There is no post office.

Máncora's public hospital is Centro de Salud Máncora (Tel.: 25-8130). On the road to the beach is an emergency health post. Many pharmacies are on Avenida Piura / Avenida Grau.

Laundry services abound here, allowing visitors more time to enjoy the surf and sand. The English-speaking staff of Lavandería El Espumón provides two-hour service for $1.70 per kilo (Monday-Saturday 8:30 a.m.-1 p.m., 3-6 p.m. Avenida Piura 216, Tel.: 9954-812).

On the West side of the Pan-American is Máncora's malecón. Here all types of artisans set up shop, selling everything from crocheted bikinis to palm-fiber hats to jewelry. Some, however, have sea horses and other protected species for sale. Do not purchase these.
