Tourism
Máncora’s tourism office is in the city hall (Monday-Friday 8 a.m.-1 p.m. and 2-3:45 p.m.). You can also visit www.perumancora.com for more information about Máncora hotels, restaurants and nearby attractions. The police station is on the same strip (Tel: 258-414).
Money
The only bank in town is Banco de la Nación. It changes U.S. cash dollars and is the MoneyGram agent; its ATM accepts only Visa and Plus (Monday-Friday 8 a.m.- 5:30 p.m., Saturday 9 a.m.-1 p.m. Av. Piura 641). Two GlobalNet ATMs are found next to Hotel Sol y Mar and at Commercial Marlon (both on Avenida Piura). A BCP ATM that accepts most major cards is across the street from Restaurant Espada. Many bus offices and tour agencies exchange U.S. cash dollars.
Keeping in Touch
Internet and locutorios (phone offices) are common. Ushpa internet café has all services, including Skype (daily 9 a.m.-11 p.m. Av. Piura 372). There is no post office.
Medical
Máncora's public hospital is Centro de Salud Máncora (north end of Pan American highway. Tel: 258-130). On the road to the beach is an emergency health post. Many pharmacies are on Avenida Piura/Avenida Grau.
Laundry
Laundry services abound here, allowing visitors more time to enjoy the surf and sand. The English-speaking staff of LavanderÃa El Espumón provides two-hour service for $1.70 per kilo (Monday-Saturday 8:30 a.m.-1 p.m. and 3-6 p.m. Av. Piura 216, Tel: 995-4812). Also try LavanderÃa Express, which charges $6 to wash and dry for up to 10 kilos (Monday-Saturday 9 a.m.-7 p.m. Av. Grau 123. Cel: 994-086-837).
