
Originally from Austria, Angela Schmitzberger considers it was her destiny to relocate to Peru and manage the only vegetarian restaurant in the northern coast region of Peru. Going both by the name of Angela's Place and Cafetería de Angela, this small but hip and bohemian bistro makes its own whole-grain bread, including rye, Turkish, banana and gluten-free rice and corn. Her menu is comprised of a creative variety of healthy vegetarian plates, such as quinoa, lentils, and curried vegetables. There is soy milk here too, and a concession to beef goulash due to Angela's native expertise with the dish. Inside a large, multi-language book exchange fills no less than three long shelves. Open daily from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.
